Amazon has started a gradual introduction of the Matter standard on its devices. As announced at the launch event in November, 17 models from the in-house Echo range have initially received a software update. According to the developer blog (link) these include:

- Echo Dot (5th Gen)
- Echo Dot (th Gen) with Clock

- Echo (4th Gen)

- Echo Show 5
- Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen, 2021)
- Echo Show 8
- Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen, 2021)
- Echo Show 10 (3rd. Gen)
- Echo Show 15
- Echo Studio
- Echo Flex
- Echo Input
The devices now support Matter via WiFi, but so far only three of the product categories envisaged in version 1.0 of the standard: Lamps, sockets and switches. Other device classes are to follow in early 2023 – along with support for the Thread wireless protocol. Then the Alexa app for iOS will also get a software update. Currently, the Android version of the program is required to set up Matter products.
