Albrecht Jung GmbH & Co. KG is one of Germany’s long-established suppliers of electrical engineering. The company group has been manufacturing switches, sockets, dimmers and building management systems since 1912. The range includes products for KNX and in-house developments such as JUNG HOME. So it’s quite something when Matter joins the ranks.
Thread push-button with double rocker and battery
At the German Eltefa trade fair in March 2025, the company will be launching a battery-operated wireless push-button under the JUNG brand that supports the Matter standard (link). Like the Smattex model already available, it is based on a push-button module developed by Insta, a joint subsidiary of the two German electrical companies Gira and Jung.
The module uses Thread as a radio protocol and has four button inputs that can be assigned functions in the Matter ecosystem used. A lithium button cell (CR 2430) supplies the power for operation. Jung estimates its service life at around three years.

High-quality finish in Jung design
The design is based on the manufacturer’s existing switch ranges. There are versions for the successful LS 990 surface switch series and the classic A550. Various surfaces in plastic and metal as well as different colored frames allow seamless integration into existing installations (link). Jung also offers laser engraving or the printing of symbols. Even rockers with striking graffiti from the JUNG UNIQUE x GRAFT design series (link) are possible in this way.
The push-button can be mounted directly on a DIN 49073 flush-mounted box and screwed to it using a support ring supplied. Alternatively, the unit can also be attached to plain surfaces such as furniture or glass panes using adhesive. A suitable adhesive pad is also included.
