Eve Dimmer Switch mounted on a wall

Eve Dimmer Switch with Matter for the US market

Eve Systems announces the launch of its first dimmer for the Matter standard. The Eve Dimmer Switch (link) will be available on the US market from 17 March 2025. It fits into standard flush-mounted boxes and is hard-wired. A neutral wire is required for installation. Depending on the connection, it can replace an existing single-pole switch or serve as a 3-way switch in combination with a conventional light switch.

Integration into Matter systems via Thread

A large push-button switches the light on and off, while a narrow rocker directly next to it adjusts the brightness. The switch can be connected to Matter ecosystems such as Apple Home or Google Home via an integrated Thread module and a Thread Border Router. This enables voice control and automation via the respective platform. Brightness or motion sensors switch the light as required, and multiple button assignments call up various scenes with a short, long or double button press.

The manufacturer’s Eve app for Android and iOS also makes it possible to program a timer directly on the dimmer switch. It is then executed independently of a hub in the smart home. You can choose whether the light should switch on with the last setting used or with a preferred brightness. And whether the status LED should signal the brightness level or remain completely switched off so that it does not disturb sleepers at night.
