With Chinese provider Aqara, the smart home standard Matter gets another supporter. The subsidiary of Xiaomi has officially announced to make two of its smart home hubs compatible with Matter (link). The internationally available Zigbee hubs Aqara M2 and M1S are to receive a free software update via the Internet in time for the launch of the manufacturer-independent standard. This means that all products that are registered with the hub will then also be available in Matter systems such as Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit or the Google Home app.
