Warmup (link), which describes itself as the world’s best-selling brand for underfloor heating, has added a new Matter-enabled room thermostat to its lineup. The 7iE Smart Matter WiFi Thermostat connects existing installations with platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, and SmartThings. It is designed for use with electric and hydronic underfloor heating systems. In addition, it can control central heating systems via a switching contact, supporting 230-volt operation with loads of up to 16 amps. Founded in England in 1994, the company is further expanding its extensive portfolio of underfloor heating thermostats with this product.

A proprietary technology called “SmartGeo” automatically generates heating schedules to ensure rooms reach the desired temperature at the right time, without the need to set up a program. According to Warmup, SmartGeo also takes local weather conditions and the building’s thermal characteristics into account to support energy-efficient operation. Users of the thermostat also gain access to the manufacturer’s “SmartCare” service. During operation, the service analyzes heating performance using real-time data and can proactively indicate potential technical difficulties. Through remote diagnostics, Warmup aims to support optimal system operation and also offers customers a comprehensive maintenance service for their heating systems.
The 7iE is available with either a white or black frame via Warmup’s websites as well as through retailers and online stores, including options for installation by professional contractors. The thermostat complies with the requirements of Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1103 for control devices for local space heaters and with Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED). Conformity with EN 18031-1 is used to demonstrate compliance with RED requirements, particularly regarding radio operation and cybersecurity.
