Matter-Compatible Lighting from SwitchBot

Some of SwitchBot’s (link) first Matter-enabled lights had already surfaced on Amazon – now it’s official. A new range of compatible lighting products is expanding the company’s smart home portfolio. The new models support Matter-over-Wi-Fi, allowing seamless integration with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings.

As the standard specifies, control can take place locally within the home Wi-Fi network, without relying on any cloud connection – provided the respective platform supports full offline operation. The new lineup also integrates with SwitchBot’s existing ecosystem and can be paired with Bluetooth-based devices through a central hub such as the SwitchBot Hub 3.

The New Product Lineup at a Glance

The range includes two floor lamps, three LED strips, and a specialty table lamp. Depending on their capabilities, the products can be grouped into three categories:

  • RGBIC Series: The “IC” stands for Independent Control, referring to the ability to adjust individual lighting segments separately. SwitchBot’s LED strips are divided into sections that can be addressed individually via the company’s app to create dynamic effects – similar to Philips Hue or Nanoleaf Gradient Lightstrips.
The RGBIC family includes the 1.35-meter-tall RGBICWW Floor Lamp, the five-meter RGBICWW Light Strip, and an RGBIC Neon Light Tube, which will be available exclusively in North America.

All models combine RGB with cool and warm white LEDs. Through the SwitchBot app, users can access 16 million colors, 26 dynamic scenes, and 8 lighting effects. Over Matter, brightness (up to 1200 lumens), white tones (2700K–6500K), and solid colors can be adjusted. The light strip can be trimmed every 12.5 centimeters, while the neon tube features an integrated wire frame for extra flexibility. All models carry an IP44 rating for splash resistance, making them suitable for a wide range of environments.

  • RGB Series: The second product family consists of the SwitchBot Floor Lamp and the SwitchBot LED Light Strip 3. Both support RGB, cool white, and warm white lighting with smooth dimming. Users can choose between 16 themes and 5 lighting effects to tailor the ambiance as desired. Each model also features a durable PU coating and IP44 protection.
  • Candle Warmer Lamp: Less about light and more about fragrance, this third addition – first shown at IFA 2025 – is the world’s first Matter-enabled candle warmer. Instead of using an open flame, it melts the wax with gentle heat, creating a cozy atmosphere without smoke or soot. The downward-facing light can be adjusted in intensity, influencing how much scent is released from the candle. Integrated into the SwitchBot ecosystem or a Matter platform, the process can also be automated and synchronized with other room lighting.

All products except the candle warmer are now available on SwitchBot’s official website and Amazon. The illuminated fragrance accessory is expected to follow soon.
